Editor, B2B Publisher, North Sussex, circa £30K
Our client is a print and digital publisher who are a market leader in their niche sector and they are now looking for an experienced Editor to run of the companies titles.
Responsibility for one of the key monthly magazines in the porganisations portfolio, as well as all brand extensions. The successful candidate will be solely responsible for the print output of the magazine and work within a larger online team, but with a defined remit and topic base.
Plan and produce the editorial content to meet the objectives of teh agreed editorial policy
Online: produce and upload daily high-quality news online.
Print: research and produce feature articles, news, interviews and all other internally-produced editorial content. Commission content where appropriate.
Social media activity, engagement and content dissemination for the brand.
Ensure that editorial contributions and costs are kept within the agreed editorial budget.
Represent the brand at press events, conferences and exhibitions. Develop and maintain contacts with key stakeholders to maintain a high profile for yourself and the brand.
Help prepare, and periodically review, a long-term editorial programme to ensure content:
a) serves the interests of its market and readership.
b) grows the registered readership online within defined reader profiles.
c) increases the magazine’s profile and maintains its standing in the market
c) achieves its commercial targets.
Propose and initiate innovations, such as events, surveys and cross-brand campaigns tostimulate reader interest and to improve profile in the market
Skills and Experience required:
Deputy Editor level and above
Required journalistic skills:
News gathering and writing
Use of a CMS, InDesign and Adobe suite
Personal effectiveness, planning and initiative
Communication, teamwork and relationship building
